Self Extracting Exe's
Saving from a web site

Extracting exe's attached to your email .....click here.  Please be very careful opening exe's in your email unless you know the person, know they keep their anti-virus program updated and you also have a good anti-virus program installed and keep it updated.

I offer the tutorials freely to you for learning purposes.  I hope you find them useful.  As always, proceed at your own risk. Read through it first to see if you understand it and always follow them word for word, step by step. Do not rush or skip any steps.  I am only responsible for 'my' errors. *S*

The tutorials are for personal use only. Please do not modify, redistribute in any manner, place in any collections on websites or CD's for profit or otherwise, link to, remove, or claim as your own any files from these pages.  If you'd like to refer to any of the tutorials, please just provide a link or email me for permission to use the entire tutorial.  All tutorials and graphics were created by me unless otherwise stated.  It's perfectly ok, and encouraged, to share the link with friends who might find them useful.

All files on this site have been scanned with Norton Anti-Virus

***This tutorial was written in/for Win98/98SE, but also applies to WinXP.  The boxes in the screenshots below may look a little different but the settings are basically the same and
should be easy to "translate".

After you click on the exe link to download, this box will pop up.  Make sure the "Save this program to disk" is checked.  Click OK  (see next screenshot for IE/OE6 attachment box)

Navigate to the folder you want to save the exe file to, highlight it and SAVESaving to your desktop is the easiest.

The self extractor box will pop up. The path is already there. Simply click UNZIP and all files will go to your stationery folder.  Make sure the box "Overwrite files without prompting" is UNCHECKED.

This box will pop up.  Click OK........then click Close.  Go to your desktop and drag the exe file to your recycle bin.  That's it!
